On a long drive home from western Illinois to eastern Wisconsin, I thought about how long it’s been since I looked forward to an RPG. There was a time when every turn based rpg was something I relished. I passed hours each day fully submerged in stories and characters. Maybe I’m just jaded.
Yes. EA/Bioware. You did. As I was FINALLY committing the ME3 review to paper, I was reminded of a time in Skyrim. (Yes, I’m about to admit to having more fun in a series I hate, than I did in a series I was primed to love – man 2011 was a wacky year.) A guard said those horrid words,
If you’re an Alan Wake fan and you haven’t yet picked up this DLC. Do. I won’t say it’s phenomenal or amazing in every way the first game is. I will say it’s worth the XBL points if you’re already a fan of Alan Wake.
I wish I could undo the sale Bioware made on my purchase of ME3. A simple refund will not suffice. I need the experience of having ever played ME3 removed from my cerebrum. Like a computer delete this corrupt data so that 200+ hours of ME1&2 can remain untainted. Mass Effect 3, Bioware… you have ruined 5 years of anticipation
Download Journey on PSN now. It is difficult to describe. Suffice it to say, Journey is all the things I know video games can (and should) be. Seriously, if you need something to get over the disappointment of ME3. This should do it.
Between reverie and reality I found time to finish both Mass Effects. I must say I enjoyed the entire experience but my eyes were opened to a few facts that others might overlook when wearing their nostalgia blinders. I’m not going to go into them. I won’t devote a full review to it now but I would like to provide a little insight for those contemplating purchasing The Darkness 2. Don’t. If you’re looking for a rousing sequel to that sleeper hit of a first game The Darkness 2 is not it.
