Minecrap (See what I did there?)

Mephisto Mori/ March 6, 2014/ Video Games/ 0 comments

I am not a fan of Minecraft.  That’s putting it lightly.  Let me rephrase: I fucking despise the piece of shit game. It’s all the worst parts of an MMO, with deliberately bad graphics passed off as nostalgia, and a community comprised largely of children and auts. Basically Minecraft is an excuse to build a gigantic dick online to brag

Super Cereal: A South Park Stick of Truth First Impression

Mephisto Mori/ March 4, 2014/ Video Games/ 0 comments

It is downright offensive how well-tuned South Park: Stick of Truth is mechanically speaking.  In terms of gameplay for a turn-based RPG it is the best I’ve seen in years.  I’m stunned.  The rest of the industry should be very disappointed in themselves that some game designed to make as many dick and shit jokes as possible has better gameplay.

Drunken Robot Pornography

Mephisto Mori/ February 28, 2014/ Video Games/ 0 comments

Now that I have your attention.  I just purchased a Steam game called Drunken Robot Pornography.  FPS+Shmup with bad voice acting.  I haven’t played it yet but it’s probably bad.  But it was on sale and I was weak. Damn you Gaben.

Natural Selection 2

I’m not sure I mentioned it on my site but a friend pointed out Natural Selection 2 to me about a year ago.  It’s a pretty solid sci-fi shooter with some of the best community generated content I’ve seen on Steam.  News to me… it’s becoming a hit on the professional gaming circuit too.  I just stumbled on the championship

Confession: My First Break-Up (not what you think)

Mephisto Mori/ February 20, 2014/ Video Games/ 0 comments

I was a fledgling teenager.  My hometown was Middle-of-fuck-nowhere-istan.  Loneliness was my prevailing emotion and I lacked friends because I had long hair, a high IQ, and no social skills. Immersion in RPGs and video games were my escape.  I had read magazines (yeah, not the internet… weird) about a particular game for a literal decade.  The game, Lunar the

Missed Opportunities

Mephisto Mori/ February 18, 2014/ Video Games/ 0 comments

I’ve had nightmares the last few nights.  Not my typical night terrors about darkness and demons or anything like that.  I just keep waking up with this anxiety over some of the things I didn’t get to mention during my panel on Friday.  I have three big issues I keep going over in my head. In particular Assassin’s Creed has

Times They are a-Changin’

Mephisto Mori/ February 17, 2014/ Video Games/ 0 comments

This weekend was interesting for me. I ran a panel on video games.  For approximately one and a half hours I had an un-quantifiable amount of fun.  (Again thank you to everyone that helped and everyone that showed up). Then an odd thing occurred. Two full days combined did not reach that same level of fun. Don’t get me wrong,

Big Win

Well I consider tonight’s panel a success.  I really expected boos and crickets.  Actually got laughs and applause.  Thanks everyone that showed up.   Now like my Facebook page and actually discuss shit in comments.

Side Note: Hawken is finally on Steam.

Mephisto Mori/ February 11, 2014/ Video Games/ 0 comments

I signed up to Beta Hawken (mech warrior MMO basically if you haven’t heard of it).  I got into beta but never installed it and soon forgot about the game.  I received an email the other day informing me it was on Steam.  The message had a code for playing it included so, what the hell, I installed it. I’ll
