Winmas was a Success

Saturday July 27th, 2013 was the first ever Winmas (better name still pending).  I dragged the TV from my bedroom, one from my basement, and even rigged a pair of PCs and a laptop for maximum fun.

Streams were watched, games were played, and there was much rejoicing.  A Mortal Kombat tournament ended the night for most of my friends and was an oddly successful party hit.  It was basically like MST3k with a video game.  Everyone was able to have fun with the game.  We collectively made fun of the terrible game.  Skill didn’t matter so much because we were all hammered and anyone could hold the shoulder buttons to slap shit.

After the tournament, the truly awesome stayed around playing a Final Fantasy of their choosing.

Games featured ranged from casual to soul crushing.  Puzzle Fighter, Turtles in Time, Gunstar Heroes, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Soul Caliber 2/4, Super Empire Strikes Back, Jak and Daxter, Super Marios Bros 3, Earthworm Jim, Symphony of the Night, Double Dragon 2, and many, many other games all made an appearance on one screen or another throughout the day.

I consider it a huge success.  More importantly I’ve got great ideas for next year.  Plans for an HD projector and an even wider selection of games along with a couple other tournaments to include everyone.

I hope everyone had as much fun on their Winmas as me.  Comment below and share how you spent it.
