Lost and Wolverine (they’re related)
OK, so it has taken me nearly a decade but I’m finally watching Lost. I’m told it jumps the shark later (as decent Sci Fi has a tendency to do if it’s not cancelled in time – sigh, I miss Firefly) but I’ll stick it out none-the-less.
An odd side effect of the show has been a more profound appreciation of the X-Men Origins: Wolverine (official) game. It’s on a shortlist of movie tie-in games, along with Escape from Butcher’s Bay, that are actually good and it certainly surpasses the movie (not that the bar was high for that one).
Basically the game let’s you be Wolverine: you climb walls with your claws, eviscerate enemies, and fight a fucking sentinel while falling through the sky to rock music. It’s a fun beat ’em up that makes a sincere attempt at letting you play a comic book hero as he should be played.
Oh, and it has some surprisingly fun Easter eggs, one of which deals with Lost.
Check it out if you haven’t, it should be real cheap in a bargain bin somewhere.
