Branching Dialogues Podcast #43 “Awesome Games Done Quick 2016”

I occasionally guest appear on a local podcast here in Milwaukee called Branching Dialogues produced by the multi-talented David Geisler and the Technophiles Podcast Network. The latest episode is about my experience with AGDQ 2016. Here it is:

I didn’t do the best job of properly name dropping the individuals I met or spent more than a passing moment with at AGDQ 2016. It’s a live podcast and on the spot my brain sometimes short circuits. I think that’s the reason I do better writing because I have the time to plan and organize my thoughts. That said, I’d like to take a moment to give proper shout outs to the individual streamers I was able to talk with for any amount of time beyond fetching them controllers and consoles. Any readers on Winsomnia should immediately go follow and support them on Twitch. MaxyLobes, Carcinogen, Xem, ThaRixer, TMR, Striker, DragonDarch, Frozen, TestrunnerShockwve, and Matty you’re all gentleman and paragons of your craft. Thank you.

I also owe a lot to all the folks at World 9 Gaming (Including but not limited to Mike “RedPracticeNinja aka El Presidente” Frey, Joe, Bob, Evan, Zerst, Josh, and Stephen).

There are a literal thousand people more deserving of the credit compared to the infinitesimal part I played in this event. Countless other streamers, staff, and volunteers that all make the GDQs what they are that I couldn’t possibly take the time to list by name. If you happen to be one of them, feel free to call me out and I will make a very personal and direct concession. You’re all amazing people and I look forward to being a part of these marathon events as long as W9 and GDQ Staff will have me.

Last but really first, I owe a lot of thanks to my ever supportive fiance. She’s not really a gamer but that never stops her from supporting me. She endured two flights while pregnant, occupied the same hotel room as five sweaty men, and suffered a pretty abhorrent hotel breakfast to help out at AGDQ. She should’ve been the first person I mentioned in the podcast and I’m sure as soon as she listens to it, I’ll receive a much deserved “critiquing.” The truth of it is, I wasn’t the only one setting up that LAN room and I couldn’t have done any of it without her. Thanks, Lulu.
