Voice Actor Duel. Hayter v. Baker
I want to see David Hayter duel Troy Baker for title of most Bad Ass video game voice actor.
At the top of my list for biggest video game bad asses are Solid Snake and Joel (TLoU). And their voice actors are partially responsible for the gravitas of these two icons. Would Snake and Joel be as awesome without their dulcet tones? Well sure but only because I come from a time when reading dialogue in a game was just as cool (hence Cloud being on my list of bad asses – I can’t imagine what teenage pop star they would’ve dug up to VO him in the late 90s).
My fantasy remains. Next PAX or something let’s set this up. Hayter made gravel sexy and Baker put the awe in drawl. Time for some fisticuffs to further solidify their places at the top of the bad ass food chain. The winner wouldn’t even matter. It’d be like Fight Club they both just become more awesome.
Editor’s Note: Who cares about Booker Dewitt in this context. His prevailing quality would be confusion. And we already know what happens to confused people in Snake’s world. You can’t talk with a broken neck.
