Okay, so using that headline makes it seem pretty impressive – and it sort of is.  PS4 software update 2.0, dubbed “Masumune” to sound sweet, will roll out tomorrow, October 28th.  An overview of many of the changes can be seen in this video from Playstation’s Youtube Channel:

The video highlights a suite of simple quality of life improvements.  Some intuitive and awesome changes, others are no-brainers that should’ve been included at launch.  Overall the update is a solid and necessary step in the right direction.  This update reinforces Sony’s “gamers first” slogan that is becoming their identity this generation of consoles.

Also included in Masamune is the long anticipated “Share Play.”  Share Play is a sort of digital passing of the controller to a remote friend.  It’s this kind of future technology that really puts the bite in the hype.

Details on Share Play, along with a video tutorial can be found on the Playstation Blog.
